fly fishing hawaii:

4wts., a lake, and tucs... lots of tucs.

matt saved up his hard earned teaching assistant money and treated himself a 4wt. tfo bvk rod. the boy has been on a lake hot streak and yesterday (sunday) up in wahiawa the streak continued with his new rod... big time.

it went a little something like this.

matt got the stink off his new 4wt. tfo bvk pretty quick, but that would just be the start.

i went with my 4wt. g loomis classic glx and a "classic" orvis battenkill 5/6 click pawl reel.

i also got a few with a g loomis nrx 5wt. and abel creek 2 reel because, you know, all rods must get bit.

we got on some "good wood" and it was game on!

the fly du jour seemed to once again be "that gold fly you tie", though i caught a bunch of fish on other baitfish patterns as well.

we caught peacocks...

and more peacocks...

but wait... there's  more!  click here to see.
