doug kicked things off with this pa'opa'o (golden trevally). his first one on a fly ever and, in true doug fashion, he sight fished it.
then, of course, there were bones.
as usual, the bone crazed maniac (doug) accounted for most of the bones but j rod and i got our licks in as well.
i went ultra light and sight fished with my sage 691-4 one, abel classic reel, and a scientific anglers textured saltwater 6 wt. line. it worked well although with a six weight i had to “finesse” my way to landing these guys.
j rod caught the most species. in addition to this 'aha (needlefish) he also caught the lizard, trumpet, another pa’opa’o, an 'omilu, and a pualu (on the fly!)
