fly fishing and not so fly fishing hawaii:

this weeks bones of summer and more summer fun.

i only got out once this week for a couple of hours of decent switch rod sight fishing.  the rest of my time has been spent in the shop tying flies while sean and the crew are down at christmas island probably pounding everything in sight.  the tides this week were of the fast and furious full moon nature.  the bones have been in summer mode and quite cooperative for all.  today is my only day off, then i'm back in the shop.  on thursday evertybody's pal sean will be back in the shop no doubt loaded with christmas island tales of intrigue.  so that's all i have for right now, i gotta get ready to go pound the laike this afternoon with craig.  bone guys enjoy the bite while it lasts.  surf guys enjoy the swell while it lasts.  everyone else... just enjoy.  i'll see you on the water.

bones of summer from the other day.

young boy matt is enjoying his summer break from college.  these two nice bones were released unharmed.  yes, you can release fish caught while dunking.  wouldn't it be nice if everyone could catch fish here all the time?  big dreams can be reached with the small actions of many.

deano has been going old school and chasing weke (goatfish) with a 5wt. bamboo rod.

he got a nice humu (humuhumunukunukuapua'a).  aside from being the state fish, these fish are quite fun on a fly and probably a hoot on a 5wt bamboo rod.

until the next time, that's all i have to say about that.  good times.

clay.
